Links to these resources are below. Enjoy!

New

The Walled City
by Ryan Gaudin

This book follows three teens through a dark and dangerous work based on the very real Kowloon city in Hong Kong. It is not so much sci-fi or dystopian, but readers might want to believe that such horrors could only exist in fiction. Dai is caught up in drug trafficking to escape a past secret, Jin is on the search for her stolen sister and poses as a boy to keep safe in an unsafe world and Mai discovers a hidden strength to live behind the walls of a brothel. All three characters intersect and come to rely on each other in a world where the second rule is trust no one.

We Should Hang Out Sometime
by Josh Sundquist

Josh only ever had one girlfriend. For twenty-three hours. In eighth grade. Why was Josh still single? To find out, he tracked down the girls he had tried to date and asked them straight up: What went wrong? The results of Josh's semiscientific, wholly hilarious investigation are captured here. From a disastrous Putt-Putt date involving a backward prosthetic foot, to his introduction to CFD (Close Fast Dancing), to a misguided "grand gesture" at a Miss America pageant, this story is about looking for love--or at least a girlfriend--in all the wrong places.

Noteworthy

Kill Me Softly
by Sarah Cross

Mirabelle's past is shrouded in secrecy, from her parents' tragic deaths to her guardians' half-truths about why she can't return to her birthplace, Beau Rivage. Desperate to see the town, Mira runs away a week before her sixteenth birthday—and discovers a world she never could have imagine. Mira gets caught up in a crazy world of fairy tales come to life, from the strange girl with an obsession with apples to the beastly playboy stalking the streets. And to add to it all - there are two handsome and confusing boys that show up in her life that have secrets of their own.

Dizzy in Your Eyes
by Pat Mora

“.....and I smile
and know
why people write music and paint and dance, lifted as if they can fly,
because this ache
crashing inside
needs to be free.
sometimes, love
becomes a melody
others hum for years.”

This collection of poems has plenty for the romantic side of you - or to send to that very special someone this month!
