Comment & Submission Guidelines for the Citizens Library & District Center blog

The objective of our library blog is to promote the wide range of Citizens Library offerings, including services, programs, resources and materials, and to do so in a topical and relevant manner.

We want to hear from you; we really do. Just a few things to remember:

  • Don't use obscenities: We welcome family-friendly comments and posts on our blog (If you can't be polite, please don't say it.).
  • Please stay on topic: Stick to the subject and issues raised by the post.
  • Please respect people's privacy: Please do not post individual phone numbers or e-mail addresses.
  • Be nice: Don't post comments that are obscene, libelous or hateful.
  • Don't post content that installs viruses, worms, malware, Trojans, etc.
  • Don't post spam.

What we'll do:

  • We will moderate comments. When a comment is added to a blog, instead of publishing it automatically, the comment will be viewed by Citizens Library staff. This may take up to 24 hours in some instances.
  • We will respond to comments and answer questions as appropriate.
  • We will choose not to publish any posts of a commercial nature.

Note: We reserve the right to immediately remove content that contains personal attacks, profanity and information unrelated to the topic.

Comments posted to our website, blogs, and social media accounts will be monitored. We reserve the right to remove inappropriate comments including those that have obscene language or sexual content, threaten or defame any person or organization, violate the legal ownership interest of another party, support or oppose political candidates or ballot propositions, promote illegal activity, promote commercial services or products or are not topically related to the particular posting.

Blog entries can include but are not limited to such topics as thematic booklists, information about upcoming programs and events, as well as announcements about services we provide. Some posts will be aimed at specific segments or groups within our community, while others will have a broader appeal to the entire community. Please contact us if you have questions or concerns about existing posts or suggestions for future posts.

Thanks for your interest in our blog!
