'Tis the season...to Share the Love!

This holiday season has been extra-special for Citizens Library, as we've been invited by local car dealership, Budd Baer, to participate as one of several local/national charities in the Subaru Share the Love event.

What is the Subaru “Share the Love” event?
From November 20, 2014, through January 2, 2015, Subaru will donate $250 for every new/used Subaru vehicle sold or leased to the purchaser's choice of participating charities. As a chosen charitable partner, Citizens Library of Washington is grateful for the opportunity to participate. It is estimated that up to $25,000 can be donated during the event, which attributes to over 200,000 children's books read per year.

Why is this a great opportunity for the library?
It’s not every day that local libraries can harness the power of an internationally recognized company and reap the benefits by receiving unrestricted grant funds. By leveraging the Subaru “Share the Love” event, Citizens Library can spotlight the needs of children, families and seniors in your community and the positive impact of these invaluable services. One of our goals is to include all member libraries in Washington County in this initiative going forward, so that additional funds can be distributed for systemwide materials and services. This attention can also help to recruit volunteers, raise funds and establish long-lasting partnerships. Get started today!

Fetch the Information Retriever gave out free activity books and took pictures with Budd Baer staff.
To help celebrate this event, Fetch (the WAGGIN one-card library mascot) unveiled his new Fetch & Friends Activity Book which features coloring pages, games and puzzles all about the library! Stop by Budd Baer and pick up a FREE book today (while supplies lasts).
